the inspired apartment

i've officially been in my bachelorette pad for a month (aka studio apartment, aka having every right for pink to be the main decor color) and it is almost complete!

there a few more works in progress -- happening this weekend, fingers crossed. but i thought i'd share with you all a space that inspired me.

starting with my first big purchase - a painting by Nicole Cohen of Sketch42. from there i wandered onto Nicole's blog and bam, there it was, my dream apartment her lovely home in NYC.  seeing her mixing of textures (see fluffy rug/acrylic combo) and black & white's with her colorful prints hanging tugged at my heartstrings!

i can't wait to share pictures with you all, but as i said, still a work in progress (having a full-time job is such an inconvenience, no?)  in the meantime, i give you, the Sketch42 apt (featured in Rue) to lust over.

check out Sketch42 and see it all here

whirlwind

whirlwind doesn't even begin to describe.  does anyone else feel like their life in in fast forward mode?  i have been so lucky and been having so much fun this spring.  life is good.

there will be lots of updates in the coming weeks as i am moving to a new apartment, and 3 - count them 3 - of my very best friends are getting married next month.  to say i will be living out of a suitcase is an understatement, but i am thrilled to be sharing in their special days and making some trips down south.

in my blogisphere absence (the past week, but it feels longer) i have been

-experimenting with loose waves. 2 in. curling iron and no blow dry does the trick for me.  i am loving having some length on my hair. of course i will do anything to channel the lovely olivia p.

-wearing these peep toe booties from Ann Taylor LOFT to death

for some reason the shoe never made the website? but coco kills it in the loft ads.  i have been styling them with boyfriend jeans, a silk blouse and fitted/cropped blazers for work.  they are also the perfect shade of nude!

-hitting up some rooftop bars and enjoying the weather with friends (Marvin & DC9)

-going to small shows.  most notably Lord Huron at DC9

this show/venue was awesome.  i can't sell small venues enough - when you can actually see the band and be close it makes all the difference.

-daydreaming about decorating my new, very own 483 sq foot apartment.

my Sketch42 painting from Etsy arrived and I couldn't be more thrilled.  i love the colors and the graphic design.

besos my dears <3 .
